Written Wordz

Mainstream Americans are reluctant to speak out in writing, even when it can make a real difference. How can we shift that reluctance by setting aside self-judgment, releasing fear and tapping our common heritage as powerful thinkers as a means of turning our writing into action?

Writing is an art that few people can do… looking back in history, our only choice to communicate was to write so; written word was fostered within the family, at school, and community, it was done beautifully. In this present moment we have much faster ways of expressing thoughts into actions.

Playing devil’s advocate, perhaps we are reluctant to speak out in our writings because of fear of repercussion. The written word is solid evidence that can and will be used against you…in the court of law…by your enemies…

American society cultivates fear based thinking. The media is the master farmer, always planting seeds of fear!  Media is also a powerful medium that people use to their advantage or disadvantage.

People all over the world use words; the writer comes along and has to use these most-in-use objects, put together a few nouns, pronouns, verbs, adjectives ... and pull them together and make them bounce, throw them against the wall and make people say, 'I never thought of it that way.'
