I learned
about the importance of silence when I was a teenager… I can’t remember who
taught it to me but, I use silence for healing, listening, knowing, and simply
to be in this moment. I often sit outside in silence and listen intently to
whatever is out there. Sometimes it’s nothing. Sometimes it’s a leaf falling.
Sometimes wood splitting. Sometimes a dog barking… Silence is comforting, it is
the only time I feel free. The creativity within me grows.
“I've begun
to realize that you can listen to silence and learn from it. It has a quality
and a dimension all its own.”

I didn't think of a healing process but your are right. I think is one the things that I enjoy the most when I'm by myself, is like a can breath. Do you have a favorite place where you can have a moment of silence?

ReplyDeleteMy favorite is outside just before dawn. or, my bedroom... :)
Some wise man once told me when you're talking you're not listening and when you're not listening you're not learning. What you stated coincides with this concept perfectly and beautifully. You can learn so much by yourself and on your own and even when you clear your own thoughts to be in a time when you find peace, in a time of peace is when you find direction.
